About Me

I am a native New Yorker and a graduate of The Swedish Institute. In 1993 I earned a B.A. in Chemistry/Pre-med from Kenyon College. My 16 years as a massage therapist have been spent in a variety of medical settings including a physical therapy practice, an HIV clinic and currently as a staff member at Memorial Sloan Kettering's Integrative Medicine Center.

My approach to assessment and treatment have been informed by my years spent teaching anatomy and physiology and working in rehabilitation settings. I have advanced training in oncology massage, complete decongestive therapy, breast cancer rehabilitation, pregnancy/labor massage, reflexology, active release, myofascial release, and structural integration.  My work is anatomically specific and engaging with a focus on functionally integrating the changes made. I encourage clients to support their results by engaging in a body practice that addresses their specific imbalances and challenges.

Over the past six years at Sloan-Kettering, I developed a specialty in treating breast, and head and neck cancer patients and was chosen to spearhead the massage program at The Evelyn Lauder Breast and Imaging Center. I have authored and teach a 2-day workshop entitled:Massage Techniques for the Breast Cancer Patient.

My work, as described by my clients:

"My sessions with Paige are amazing. I walk in and instantly feel better. From the way she communicates with me to the way she knows how to navigate what my body needs. She's gentle, effective and honestly gives me the most relief than any other method. Without Paige I would be lost. I am so glad I have her on my team. She brings an immeasurable amount of talent and skill to something so personal and daunting. I wouldn't work with anyone else." -- S.G., MSKCC patient, New York, NY, age 35

"I began working with Paige in 2009, just days after my bilateral mastectomy. While her technical expertise goes without saying, she was pivotal not only in my physical healing, but also, quite profoundly, in my emotional healing. She helped transform intense fear about my new body into a sense of wonderment, pride, and confidence in my resilience. I continue to see her to this day. I truly cannot recommend her highly enough." -- Sasha R, MSKCC patient

"I started seeing Paige two years ago after I experienced some pretty serious complications following a mastectomy and breast reconstruction.  Using several kinds of massage, Paige greatly improved the healing of scar tissue and helped me regain full range-of-motion.  She communicates regularly with my reconstructive surgeon and I consider her to be a vital part of my team and the person I look forward to seeing most!  Before this experience I never had massages but now happily admit to being an addicted “regular” – Paige is professional and creates a comfortable environment where I am able to truly relax and tune into my well-being.  She is intuitive, empathic, super resourceful, and focused on my specific needs…I credit her for helping me through various stages of fatigue, pain, and healing (following additional surgeries and treatment).
I am also a runner, so Paige has also used sports-massage with me to help me across two marathon finish lines, injury-free.  She’s the BEST!!" -- S.T., MSKCC patient, New York

"I came to see Paige Mullins during breast cancer treatment.  As soon as we met, I felt very comfortable with her and knew that she would understand me and my situation.  She is very knowledgeable about the human anatomy, cancer treatments and all of the science, but she is also completely human and compassionate. I could ask her questions during our sessions and she always makes me feel better - both physically and psychologically.  We brainstormed together to come up with a massage and lymphatic drainage schedule during radiation.  This proved to be so helpful and I feel that this has greatly contributed to how well I am doing today.  She has gone out her way to help me inside and outside of the office, answering my e-mails and questions promptly and following up.  I would highly recommend seeing Paige to anyone undergoing cancer treatment, before, during and after treatment." -- T.V.N., an MSKCC patient.

"I spent a year having physiotherapy for a shoulder problem which it did not help.  Paige alleviated the pain in a few weeks.  Her work is really excellent on all counts!" -- S.O.
